Heritage Society (HS) set up the Buddhist Heritage Research Institute (BHRI) in 2018 with the objective to explore, research, and promote Buddhist heritage and culture of the country. The BHRI has explored more than three hundred Buddhist sites in Bihar. Large number of Buddhist sculptures and remains of monastery can be seen at the explored places. The BHRI is documenting those sites scientifically to promote and safeguard Buddhist remains of Bihar. These sites belong to the period of Mauryan to Pala. Our main aims and objective is to protect the scattered Buddhist heritage.
The BHRI, AEED and Bihar Heritage have launched a mission “BIHAR KO JANO” means know Bihar. The mission “Bihar KoJano” includes heritage tour, pilgrimage tour, education tour etc.for important glorious Buddhist sites of Bihar under the eminent archaeologists, historians and experts.
