About the Nation Conference: On the occasion of World Heritage Week, the Sheodeni Sao College, Kaler and the Heritage Society, jointly organising a one-day National Conference on the theme of “Uniqueness of Bihar Heritage” on 23 November 2025 to explore the manifold dimensions of Bihar’s distinctive heritage. This initiative emerges from the recognition that Bihar occupies a distinctive position in India's cultural, historical, and spiritual landscape, yet its contributions remain inadequately explored in contemporary academic discourse. The seminar seeks to create an intellectual platform for scholars, heritage practitioners, students, and cultural enthusiasts to engage with Bihar's multilayered heritage narrative that spans from prehistoric times to the modern era. The proposed seminar aims to bring together scholars, heritage practitioners, cultural historians, archaeologists, students, and community stakeholders to critically reassess Bihar’s material and intangible heritage, interrogate its uniqueness, and identify the challenges and future pathways for conservation, documentation, and ethical engagement. By fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, the seminar seeks to foreground Bihar as a repository of ancient monuments and as a dynamic heritage region whose cultural trajectories continue to inform contemporary identities, regional development, and global scholarly conversations.
